Turquoise Gem

Peyto Lake when lit by the sun is a beautiful turquoise gem set against the mountains. The colour is due to fine glacial powder suspended in the water. This panoramic view of the lake is found after a short 20 min hike up from the car park off Icefields Parkway which connects Banff with Jasper in the Canadian Rockies.
